Stories in the Moment on ABC7NY News

STORIES IN THE MOMENT was featured on ABC7NY news. Thank you to Crystal Cranmore and abc7NY for this thoughtful feature highlighting “Stories in the Moment”, a program which uses dance and storytelling to extend a space for expression, brain health and belonging for and with people living with dementia.

A huge thank you also to the participants in this program and their family members with whom we have been connecting for the last two years for bringing their creative selves to this work and for being so supportive of joining together for this feature!

And a massive thank you to Queens Community House Social Adult Day Services for opening their home and helping this program grow! It is a joy to see the center once again open to in person programs and we hope this feature helps more people living with dementia and care partners find a home with this community!

Thank you also to Flushing Town Hall and Queens Art Fund for your support over these last two years and the peers of artists who have approved the funding to allow a sustained engagement with this community and an elevation of the voices of people living with dementia in Queens!

As Stories in the Moment participant Pat says in the feature, this gives her hope for another day. We agree with Pat and look forward to many more days together with her and others through this program!
