Stories in the Moment Virtual Early Stage Program

We are delighted to offer STORIES IN THE MOMENT in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association NY Chapter’s Early Stage Engagement Series. This Twelve-Week Virtual Dance Program is open to individuals living with early-stage dementia or MCI and care partners.

Join us to amplify our voices and discover new ways to tell our stories, through dance and movement, as well as words. Each week, community dance artist Magda Kaczmarska will lead creative explorations to create our own thematic dance stories.

Activities can be done seated or standing. No prior dance experience required.

Programs taking place Fridays 1:00-2:00pm ET from Dec 1, 2023 - Feb 16, 2024 on ZOOM. This program is FREE but a pre-registration screening interview is required. Contact Roni kersey at 646.651.4717 or rrkersey@alz.org to register.

Optional: Participants who join this mini-series are also invited to join an optional research study on the benefits of dance for people living with dementia. Supported by the Alzheimer’s Association, Global Brain Health Institute and Alzheimer’s Society UK, this research study seeks to understand how dance programs like Stories in the Moment support the quality of life and wellbeing of people living with dementia and care partners.

To learn more about the research study contact Magda Kaczmarska at magda.kaczmarska@gbhi.org or fill out this form.
