Research study: how dance supports people living with dementia

Are you interested in the way dance can support wellbeing for and with people living with dementia? Are you a person living with cognitive changes, MCI or dementia or are you a care partner of someone living with cognitive changes? Do you serve people living with cognitive changes in your community and want to share opportunities with them to get involved in research?

DanceStream Projects founder, Magda Kaczmarska, is leading a research study about how engaging in dance supports wellbeing and a sense of community for people living with dementia. The research is funded through a Pilot Award for Brain Health Leaders from the Alzheimer’s Association, Global Brain Health Institute and Alzheimer’s Society UK to extend an online version of Stories in the Moment to communities of people living with dementia or MCI and care partners across the United States. This research study includes feedback from participants on how engaging in this type of dance program supports their wellbeing as well as a program evaluation that will include the voices of the people living with dementia into the further growth of this and other dance programs serving this community.

Enrollment to join the study is open now!
